BEFORE

You decided you wanted ME to capture your family session- yay! :)

My schedule launches seasonally which I always announce the exact date/time of launch on my socials! Once those spots are gone, they are gone (with the exception of my maternity special or my Love Laurel/ending of life project). Once you book your session, you will receive several of my guides that are personalized to my process & what you can expect. These details help take out all of the guess work and the hope is to make your prep work for family photos a smooth process.


DURING

We will start with that looking at the camera photo for one photo but after that, it is all about forgetting the camera is even there and the focus becomes on YOU, your connection, details, play, movement & emotion. Don't worry, I will gently guide you. This is where my emotive  images come to life and the way I see you through my lens. I love to be fully present & in the moment to help tell your story as it unfolds that night.


AFTER

After your session, I then start working on your gallery. I take my time culling through desirable images & fully editing them. You will receive your final curated gallery within 3-5 weeks of session date.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 


WHEN SHOULD I BOOK?


As soon as possible!! I launch my schedule seasonally and so far have become booked within 24 hours of the schedule launch. It has truly been a blessing. I take on a certain amount of sessions per month that allows me to be able to fully love and serve not only my clients but also my family & myself. Be sure to reach out right away to book. If I am fully booked, don't worry, there are so many talented photographers in our area that I am happy to pass their names along.

Note: I am part-time and have set business hours. I respond to inquires weekly & do not log into my email daily in order to keep a good work flow with sending out galleries & a necessary work/life balance.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?


I send out a session prep/style guide after you book. This guide includes colors that look good for my editing/creative style. I also have a client closet with beautiful dresses that fit a wide range of sizes. Additionally, I have an amazing professional stylist! No extra charge for you! Once booked, I provide details on communicating with her and the styling process :) Ultimately, YOU are what make the photos :) BUT, if you like the images that drew you to my page, timing, location and styling are key componets of that!

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY IMAGES?


I don't always share sneak peeks as this interrupts overall work flow. I know, I know...it's SO hard being patient (trust me, it is hard for me too!!) Full galleries are sent within 3-5 weeks of our session date. (model calls do not have a dedicated time frame and are completed as time allows/after paid sessions).

WHAT IF I DON'T WANT MY IMAGES ON SOCIAL MEDIA?



Not a problem! I send out a questionnaire prior to our session which is where I ask about social media posts. While it is such a joy to share my art & your beautiful family with the world, I will ALWAYS respect your privacy!!

WHAT TIME DO SESSIONS TAKE PLACE?


Photography is essentially painting with light. Light is so important! I hold most of my sessions at "golden hour" which is typically 1-2 hours prior to sunset (give or take, this depends on forecast day of & location being used).

WHERE DO SESSIONS TAKES PLACE?


I have several  locations that I primarily shoot at! You can mostly find me in a field. All locations change with each season depending on the lighting, different plants in bloom (I make sure we are not getting in poison oak/ivy) and walking distance etc. You receive my location guide upon booking. Some locations are free whereas other land owners do charge a fee to use. So please be mindful that location fees are completely at the discretion of the owners who allow us to be there. These prices are listed on my guide.

CAN I JUST HAVE A MINI-SESSION?


Mini Sessions are offered on pre-determined dates and at pre-determined locations. These occur seasonally. Mini sessions sound desirable but I encourage you to not underestimate the gift of TIME. Some kids need more time to adjust, have breaks to play etc. Full sessions also allow us a lot of time to individualize your session. Be sure to stay connected with me on social media to know when mini sessions are announced though!

I DON'T THINK MY FAMILY CAN LAST A FULL HOUR?


My sessions are always "up to" an hour of time. This doesn't mean we will use the full hour. HOWEVER, you would be surprised at just how fast the time goes & most of them do last the full time.

PROPS?


I truly believe there is beauty in simplicity. I do not typically utilize lots of props (aside from themed minis) as I like much of the focus on YOU.  ACCESSORIES are my go to! Throw in some messy braids in your hair for texture; giant accent rings; special earrings etc. However, if you have a specific creative shoot in mind, reach out and let's chat! I love being able to get creative & add in fun touches! I absolutely do love details personalized to you such as a favorite stuffy, a favorite toy, paper air planes, flying a kite, baskets of flowers, bringing sports equipment or a family activity, instruments. This is always encouraged! I also offer activity based sessions!! Which I also love! We can absolutely incorporate an activity into our session if desired (ending with a scooter/bike ride? Bringing a favorite  toy? Wanting to paint together or toss a ball? Maybe playing music together or family story time. I have incorporated each of these into several family sessions and I love the uniqueness it brings to each gallery. Let’s chat!!
